Account Control & Data Security

Data ownership and portability represent core principles in Oddapy's design philosophy. This section addresses questions regarding data storage, backup procedures, export capabilities, and account lifecycle management. Understanding these processes ensures you maintain complete control over your information throughout your relationship with Oddapy. Whether managing ongoing backups, preparing for data export, or considering account closure, these answers provide clear guidance on data management procedures and their implications.

How do I back up my data?

Oddapy automatically stores your encrypted data in the cloud, providing inherent backup across devices. For additional security, you can download assets with their attached files individually using the download command in Asset Props or Explorer. Regular exports ensure you have local copies of important information.

Can I export my data from Oddapy?

Yes. Oddapy provides export capabilities allowing you to download your information before canceling your account. Each asset's files can be downloaded individually or in bulk (up to 10 files or 500MB per batch). This ensures you maintain control and ownership of your data.

Where does my data actually live?

Your encrypted data is stored on secure cloud servers provided by industry-standard cloud service providers. However, since encryption and decryption happen entirely on your device using your password as the key, the cloud storage only holds encrypted data that's unreadable without your unique encryption key.

How much storage do I get?

Each Oddapy subscription includes 15GB of cloud storage. All user-uploaded files count toward this limit, but cover photos do not consume storage space. This allocation is designed to accommodate extensive personal organization needs for documents, photos, and other important files.

What happens if I run out of storage?

When approaching your 15GB limit, Oddapy notifies you to manage your storage. You can delete unnecessary files, download and remove old content, or archive assets with large attachments. Storage management tools help identify which assets consume the most space.

How do I delete my account?

Account deletion is available in Settings. When you delete your account, all data is permanently removed—all assets, calendar slots, uploaded files, contacts, groups, and settings are erased from active systems immediately. Backup archives refresh monthly to ensure complete deletion. This action is irreversible.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

Following Oddapy's privacy-first commitment, all personal data is erased permanently from active systems. While data exists in the most recent disaster recovery backup (refreshed monthly), your information is completely removed in the next backup cycle. No record of you is preserved in active systems.

Can I recover my account after deletion?

No. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once deleted, all access is lost and you cannot restore your account or data. If you want to use Oddapy again, you must create a new account from scratch. Download important files before proceeding with deletion.

What happens to shared assets if I delete my account?

When you delete your account, assets you created and shared with others are permanently deleted—recipients lose access immediately. However, assets shared with you by others remain accessible to those creators and other recipients. Only your owned content is removed.

Do my files stay private during backup?

Yes. Backups follow the same encryption standards as active data. Your files remain encrypted in backup archives using your password as the encryption key. Even in disaster recovery scenarios, your backup data cannot be decrypted without your personal encryption key.

Can Oddapy restore my data if something goes wrong?

Oddapy maintains disaster recovery backups to protect against system failures, not individual user data loss. If you accidentally delete assets or your account, Oddapy cannot restore them because we don't have access to your decryption key. Always download important files before deletion.

How do I download files from my assets?

Open Asset Props, locate the Files section, tap the ⋮ (context menu) next to any file, and select Download. You can also download all files from an asset at once using the Download command in the asset toolbar. Download limits are 10 files or 500MB per batch.
