An asset's status determines how it behaves. Some assets remain in your regular workflow, some may be archived, while others may need to be protected. Due to the impact of status changes, only the Creator Owner of an asset can modify its status.
Oddapy supports three asset statuses:
- Active
- Locked
- Archived
Changing the status of an Asset
The status of an asset can be changed from the following places:
Explorer
Home view card
Asset Props
Active Assets
- This is the default status for all newly created assets.
- Active assets appear in the Content Area by default.
- All permitted operations (editing, sharing, deleting, etc.) are available for active assets.
Locked Assets
- Only the Creator Owner can modify locked assets.
- Editing is restricted, even for Owner by Share with Edit permissions.
- Assets remain available for viewing and downloading.
- Helps protect sensitive information from accidental changes.
Archived Assets
- Use for assets you want to retain but don't frequently use.
- Helps maintain a clean and organized Content Area.
- Archived assets are hidden from default views but can be accessed using the Archived filter.
Changing Asset Status
Statuses are toggle-based:
- Locking an asset changes its status to Locked. Unlocking returns it to Active.
- Archiving an asset moves it to the Archive. Removing it from the Archive makes it Active again.
To change an asset's status:
- Locate it in the Content Area.
- Open the context menu and select:
- Lock to lock the asset.
- If already locked, the option changes to Unlock.
- Move to Archive to archive the asset.
- If already archived, the option changes to Remove from Archive.
- Lock to lock the asset.
Filtering by Asset Status
The Filter Bar includes Locked and Archived options:
- Selecting Locked displays only locked assets.
- Selecting Archived displays only archived assets.
